Random, random, random, random, random...

I don't really have anything significant to post. Which I guess I never really do. But here are some pretty random things... I just want my 400th page visit. Thanks to my 2-3 faithful readers!

Still hooked on craigslist missed connection. NYC ones are funnier than Ann Arbor ones.

Spring brought lots of juvenile birds. Every day, I hear a light thump on my window. Yup, those young ones keep flying into my office window. Fortunately, they just fly in from a tree that's about 3 feet from the window so they don't sustain any injuries. That I can see anyway...

As I sit here and write this, our sys admins are hard at work installing lots of new stuff on my laptop! It will not come complete with Windows Vista, MS Office 2007, and Adobe CS3. Fabulous. This is exciting. I can't wait until I go back to 1680 x 1050 screen. This 1280 x 768 stuff is killing me. I am so spoiled.

And ZOMG, I'm pretty sure Mario Party 8 for my Wii is waiting for me at home!!!

I injured myself watching TV 2 nights ago. Who does that? I was curled up on my futon and when I got up, somehow my knee hit the wooden frame and left a sizable bruise. I rock.

I started "working out" recently (in quotes because I don't do enough to call it that yet...) and I feel fatter. Why? It's not like I'm eating more... Sucks being old.

Shopping to Mend my Heart

When I decided to start this blog, I promised myself NO SERIOUS POSTS. Especially sad or depressing ones. Because seriously, who wants to read that???

But I break promises to myself all the time. Maybe it's a proof of weakness? Who knows.

All I know is that I'm sad. My best friend moved to New Jersey 2 days ago. He was here for me when AM left for Washington D.C. in October. He was here for me when JP left for San Francisco in August. He helped me through quite possibly the hardest period of my life.

I tried a few things to deal with this. I watched comedy. I immersed myself in work. And yes, I went shopping.

I dragged VN to BestBuy (where he works part time). I bought a bunch of accessories for my most recent splurge item - the Nintendo Wii. I bought Wii Play and also Super Monkey Ball 2 for my Game Cube because it was $9.99. My shopping spree did not end there. I also bought an organizer for the Wii, which came with controller gloves and a Wii hat... I also got a 2GB SD Card. Oh yeah, and a Psyclone Component Video Source Selector... I still wasn't done. I decided that I needed to consolidate my remotes. So I am now a proud owner of Logitech Harmony 550. My next item to purchase (soon!) is the Philips home theater system.

So how am I doing? Maybe a little less sad and a lot more broke.

To all my friends who are no longer in Ann Arbor: I MISS YOU!!!
